Objective
This project focuses on interpreting a traditional haiku poem through the use of typography, graphic elements, and imagery. My goal was to create a creative, visual sequence that reflects the chosen poem's rhythm, meaning, and mood.
Haiku poem choice: " First autumn morning
the mirror I stare into
reflects my father's face"
- Murakami Kijo

Exploration
Completing my first iteration of the zine, I reevaluated my use of repetition and tried ways to make it more coherent and fluid throughout each spread. I included use of the color blue to represent split moments of individuality and how it ultimately becomes whole at the end. Below are my changes of iterations from my first and last pages.
